We started working at NRL as contractors in 1984 when we met Bea. We hit it right off and became best of friends. Fred was always fun to be around – he could talk about almost any subject and never came off like a know-it-all. He was always willing to help if you had a problem or just wanted to talk. In particular, John and Fred spent time developing investment strategies. Then we moved to California in 1990, and while we talked (often and a lot!), it’s not the same. Bea and Fred came out to visit. We hit the tourist spots like Disneyland and Universal and even drove up to Carmel! We made several trips back to Maryland (including for Ric and Bev's wedding!) – always managing to visit. John and a friend (Curt) took a Four Corners of the US motorcycle trip in 2016 and stayed with them in Ocean City. They were always the most welcoming and wonderful couple we had ever met. Then Bea got sick and passed away. The last couple of times we were in Maryland, we stopped to see Ric and Bev, and Fred was always there. He was having some health issues but always stayed positive and upbeat. We never heard him complain or say a mean word about anyone - ever! He’s left behind a wonderful son (Ric), along with Bev and 2 beautiful grandchildren. There are people that come into your life, and you think they’ll be there forever. They’re not - yet they make memories that never leave.
Always in our hearts,
John and Sharon
