Victor P. Doda Jr.'s Obituary
Victor P. Doda, Jr. passed unexpectedly at his home on February 13, 2021 surrounded by his loving family and beloved dogs. Victor grew up in Locust point where he and his family were heavily involved and connected to the community in various capacities. Initially alongside of his mother and later independently, Victor continued his family’s legacy and served the people of South Baltimore whole-heartedly as the owner of the Charles L. Stevens Funeral Home. Beloved son of the late Victor P. Doda, Sr. and Ann Shirley Doda (nee Stevens) Devoted husband of Anita I. Doda (nee Bassett) Loving father of Victoria, Elizabeth, and Victor P. Doda, III. Loving brother of A. Shirley Bowman (nee Doda) Dear Brother-in-law of Robert “Bob” Bassett. Dear uncle of Nicholas Bowman and his wife Kristen, Zachary Bowman, Hillary Bowman, Kaitlin and Ali Bassett. Beloved cousin of Patrick T. Gillen, Jr. and his wife Karen, Mary Catherine “Cathy” Bauernschub and her late husband Bill, Helen G. Distelhorst and her husband Gary, the late Charles Stephen Markowski “Steamboat” and his wife Sharon. Also survived by many other loving relatives, friends and his loyal companions Seal and Finn.
Family invite friends to call at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church 1532 E. Fort Avenue, Locust Point MD 21230 on Thursday, February 18, 2021, 3:00pm to 9:00pm. Due to the Covid 19 restrictions viewing is being held at the church to offer space for social distancing. Everyone entering the church will be required to wear a mask. Burial Mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church on Friday, February 19, 2021 at 11:00am. This service will be live streamed through Facebook. Interment will be in Glen Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Flowers can be sent to the Charles L. Stevens Funeral Home at 1501 E. Fort Avenue, Locust Point MD 21230.
