Andrea Leigh
I was privileged to work with Tom at The Daily Record from 1992 through 1998. He liked to come by the department I worked in to talk to my coworker and I. Sometimes he brought us little gifts he picked up at discount stores to brighten our day. I still have the Dinotopia coffee mug he left on my desk one day. We discovered that we had a mutual interest in true crime and science fiction novels. He loaned me many of his Ann Rule books and is the reason I’m a fan of Robert Heinlein’s novels to this day. Because he was born in the same year as my father, I suspected that he’d passed, but today was the day I found his memorial here. He was genuinely kind and caring individual and I’m glad our paths overlapped for a time.
