A day I’ll never forget is when Sue literally saved my life from a very poisonous snake. My name is Jun, and I was an international student at UMBC. Being new to the area, Sue and Paul took me out to Ledo’s Pizza for dinner. When we returned to our host mom’s—my best friend’s—home, I was unlocking the back door. Suddenly, Sue pulled me aside. She had spotted a poisonous snake (a rattlesnake, if I remember correctly) right at my heel.
Had it bitten me, I would have ended up in the emergency room. That was the day Sue became a true lifesaver to me.
