On Friday, December 15, 2023, Susan “Sue” Elizabeth Barcroft passed away. Beloved wife of James Edward Barcroft. Cherished daughter of the late Bernadette Mary Appel and the late George Edward LaBarre. Treasured mother of the late Katrina Helmick, step mother of Brigitte Cooper and husband Douglas Cooper. Dear sister of the late Sharon Shiflett, the late Diane Vinson and the late George LaBarre. Loving grandmother of Matthew Preglowski, Abby Cooper and Owen Cooper. Loving aunt of Deborah Morris, Buddy Shiflett, great-aunt of Zachary Morris, Brooke Morris, LeeAnn Morris Bailey Shiflett and Justin Shiflett.
Sue loved to watch movies, read and shop at Walmart and The Dollar Store. She loved her dogs, the several she had, and she loved people and spending time with friends and family. She loved her 3 grandchildren Owen, Abby and Matthew. Sue will be remembered by many for her big heart and infectious laugh. Sue loved Matthew with her whole heart and took pride in raising him as if he were her son. She loved her husband of 40 plus years, James, and enjoyed traveling with him and Matthew to Ocean City. In her husband’s words, “She was a good person!”
The Family invites friends to call at Charles L. Stevens Funeral Home, Inc. 1501 E. Fort Avenue Locust Point, MD 21230 on Friday, December 22, 2023 from 4:00 pm -7:00 pm. Funeral service will be held at 6:30pm at the funeral home concluding the visitation. Interment will be private.
