Rosemary T. Simms' Obituary
On Sunday, June 11, 2023 Rosemary T. Simms, age 88, passed away in her home with her 3 daughters by her side. Rosemary, “Rose”, was raised in Baltimore and a longtime resident of Locust Point.
Rose was a dedicated and exceptional mother. She was very kind and generous to all that knew her. Rose was known for her Thanksgiving dressing and sweet spaghetti sauce around the holidays. In her younger years, Rose enjoyed spending weekends in Ocean City with family and friends. She also loved to cruise and travel with long time partner Marvin Kahl and countless friends.
Rose was born on December 3, 1934 to the late Dominick and Carrie Longo. In addition to her parents, Rose is preceded in death by her ex-husband, Dale O. Simms. Rose is survived by her 3 daughters, Charlene Simms Gonce and husband Carl, Ruthanne Kim Conley and late husband George, and Dale Ventura and husband Chris, 5 grandsons, 14 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, her brother Joseph Longo, her sister Carolyn Abbott and her long time partner Marvin Kahl.
The Family invites friends to call at Charles L. Stevens Funeral Home, Inc. 1501 E. Fort Avenue Locust Point, MD 21230 on Sunday, June 18, 2023 from 3:00-5:00 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm. Funeral mass will be held on Monday, June 19 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 1532 E. Fort Avenue, Locust Point, MD 21230. Interment will be held at Glen Haven Cemetery.
