Patricia Ann Leight's Obituary
On Thursday, June 13, 2024, Patirica Ann Leight passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family. A lifelong resident of South Baltimore, she is survived by her four daughters Jennifer Grimes (DJ Krenzer), Jamie Whittington (husband Brian Whittington), Jacqueline Jacobs (John Homa) and Nicky Grimes. Beloved grandmother of James Patrick (wife Devon Patrick), Ieanna Eisenhardt, Julieina Andrews, Hayden Whittington, Jazell Whittington, Aliviah Brunner, John Homa and Storm Grimes. Beloved great grandmother of Brody Patrick and Austin Patrick.
Beloved daughter of the late Dolores Springer, late stepfather Edward Springer and late father August Vogel. Beloved sister of the late Catherine Rakowski, survived by Linda Vogel, the late Robert Vogel and survived by Donna Levey (husband Bill Levey).
Patricia was selfless and caring and known for putting others before herself and looked out for the well-being of everyone around her. She was known in the neighborhood first as the most dedicated, passionate mother to her four girls, eight grandchildren and two great-grand-children. She graduated Mervo in 1974 as an LPN, but many remember her from her time as a substitute teacher, librarian and working at Royal Farms as Skinny Pat. Our mother touched many lives and if you knew her, you knew her outgoing personality and love for her children and grandchildren was like no other. She was the true definition of matriarch and will be missed by so many.
Throughout the years, Patricia became the mother figure, friend, and mentor to so many of the neighborhood children. She had a soft spot for the less fortunate and was always helping someone, whether it was feeding them or giving them life advice.
Patricia will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of compassion, kindness and wisdom will live on in the hearts of those she left behind. May she rest in peace knowing that she made a lasting impact on the world and brought light and love too so many.
The family invites friends and family to a Celebration of Life to be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 2:00pm at the Church of the Redemption, 1401 Towson St, Baltimore, MD 21230.
