Maurice "Butch" Baldwin Jr.'s Obituary
Maurice "Butch" Baldwin Jr. passed away on May 27, 2024 at the age of 77. Mr. Baldwin was born June 10, 1946 in Baltimore, Maryland to his parents,Rose Marie and Maurice A Baldwin Sr. Butch lived a life marked by service, hard work, and love for his family and passions.
Butch proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, where he exemplified courage and commitment. After serving his country, he built a fulfilling career as a longshoreman at the Port of Baltimore Local 333, where he worked until his retirement. His colleagues remember him for his strong work ethic and unwavering reliability.
Beyond his professional life, Butch was a beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather or as he would say “Old Pop”. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and he found immense joy in their company. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rose Marie and Maurice A Baldwin Sr. He is survived by his lifelong partner, Jane Baldwin; siblings; children, Steven Baldwin, Marcia Shore, Nicole Lui, Tracey Martinez; grandchildren, Blake Baldwin, Dominque Wright, Sydney Myers, Hope Ingle, Mikayla Owens, Jake Owens, Jessica Gingell, Alla Stepanov, Marcus Baldwin, Brady Levassaeur, Warren Coates, Omari Reeder; and great grandchildren, Leighton Myers, Reed Ingle, and Emery Ingle, Braxton Baldwin, all of whom will miss him dearly.
In his leisure time, Butch was an avid golfer, finding peace and satisfaction on the green. He also had a deep love for boating, spending hours fishing, crabbing, and taking the family tubing and water skiing.
Butch's legacy is one of devotion, whether to his country, his work, or his family. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, cherished through the stories and love he shared throughout his life.
A viewing in honor of Butch’s life will be held on June 3rd, 3-5 and 7-9 at Charles Stevens Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held the next day June 4th at 11:00am at Charles Stevens Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Maryland Salvation Army honoring Butch’s spirit of giving and community.
