Mary M Zichos' Obituary
Mary M Zichos (nee Rossbach), a lifelong resident of South Baltimore and Locust Point, died Sunday, February 28, 2016 at the Hospice of the Chesapeake in Pasadena, MD at the age of 91.
Born May 5, 1924, Mary grew up in Locust Point attended Good Counsel Grade School and Southern High School. She left high school to work at the Nabisco Factory in South Baltimore. Later she worked for Bendix Radio during and after World War II. On May 19, 1946, she married her loving husband of 62 years, William Zichos. She was a beloved and devoted member of her family, community and the Catholic Church.
Mary is survived by her adoring children, grandchildren and great-grandchild: daughter Patricia Zichos of Baltimore, MD; son William Zichos Jr. and his wife Deborah of Arnold, MD; grandson William Zichos III and his wife Jacquelyn of Annapolis; and granddaughter Lauren Zink, her husband Michael Zink II and their daughter Isla Zink of Millersville, MD. She is also survived by her sister Anna Haspert of Ellicott City, MD and sister-in-law Margaret Trax of Virginia Beach, VA as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her late husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers Alexander, Peter, Adam, Max and Joseph Rossbach; sister-in-law’s Matilda, Helen and Elizabeth Rossbach; Elizabeth and Ruth Zichos and brother-in-law’s Frank and Julius Zichos.
Family invite friends to call at the Charles L. Stevens Funeral Home, Inc. 1501 E. Fort Avenue Locust Point MD 21230 on Wednesday 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church 1532 E. Fort Avenue Baltimore MD 21230 on Thursday at 10:00am. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. Family Request In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Catholic Community Church of South Baltimore
