Mary Jean Newman's Obituary
Mary Jean Newman passed away on November 14, 2025. Devoted wife of the late Kenneth Kasey. Charieshed daughter of the late James Childress, Sr. and the late Katherine Gallagher. Loving mother of the late Darrel Strickland. Beloved sister of James Childress, Jr. and Sue Childress and partner Katherine Walton. Dear half sister of the late John Matthews. Also survived by many other loving relatives and friends.
Mary always cared for others which was shown in her career, that being a shock trauma nurse which she did for many years. She was one who was known to have a good time and always loved a good party.
She also greatly enjoyed motorcycles, even being a part of the Pagans motorcycle club. Beyond partying and motorcycles she loved the outdoors especially the beach. Mary was a woman with a big heart which was apparent to all who met her. Mary will be truly missed by many.
Interment will be private.
