Magdalene "Chee Chee" Grodzicki's Obituary
Magdalene Grodzicki, lifelong resident of Locust Point, passed away on October 21, 2019, while surrounded by her family. She was 81.
My aunt “Chee Chee”, as she was known, was the strongest woman I’ve ever met. Despite her physical challenges since birth, she never let anything stop her. She worked all of her adult life at the Locust Point Recreation Center in Baltimore City. She retired in Gettysburg, PA to be closer to her extended family. She loved Bingo, The Birds, The Point, and a Sloe Gin Fizz! Although she never married or had children, Chee Chee was another “mother” to my brother and I, as well as a partner in crime. Most of our fondest memories were created on Richardson Street.
Chee Chee is survived by her niece, René Langley, and her family, and nephew, Joseph Ries, and his family.
Friends & family are invited to join a celebration of Chee Chee’s life on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Charles L. Stevens Funeral Home, 1501 East Fort Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21230 from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with Catholic Mass on Friday, October 25, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel and internment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
