From your Little Sister Ellyn,
My big brother always played marbles with me on the Church lot even though I was 6 years younger than him.
He was in Boy Scotts as a Bugler and boy, did he love blowing that horn, even in my ear (not bad though – he was just messing with me).
He also loved playing pick up football with all his friends (Mt St Joe Gaels) over at Latrobe Park and I would get to watch sometimes.
I love ya Bro, I’ll miss you !!! Rest In Peace.
My fondest memory of Larry is as the middle linebacker of our Locust Point neighborhood football team. He wasn’t all that big — but he was fast, agile and a ferocious hitter. He never got hurt but inflicted a lot of pain. He played with a bit of a crazed look in his eyes. We spent our Mt St Joe high school years together and shared quite a few notable experiences — some of which may not be suitable for repeating. For a time, we kept in touch and would meet at Joe and Jen’s in LP to share a beer and our past. As happens, life eventually separated us but Larry will always have a prime spot in my memory bank. RIP my friend.
I will always remember Larry as the awesome middle linebacker on our Locust Point neighborhood football team. Not all that big — but fast, tough as nails and ferocious hitter. Played with a bit of a crazed look out of his eyes. Inflicted pain but never got hurt. We went to Mt St Joe together and shared quite a few experiences — some repeatable and others better left unsaid. Larry will remain alive in my memories.
To my dearest big brother!
I remember the days when I sat on the steps talking to my imaginary friend. You walked past me, tapped me on the head, and said “there is no-one there! Ha!
Then when we had Daddy’s boxing gloves on in the basement – somehow, you always seemed to win ! Ha!
You were a wonderful brother, a loving husband and the best Grandad and Great Grandad.
Your loving Sister, Catherine
