Joyce Roberta Bauerle's Obituary
On September 24, 2024, Joyce Roberta Bauerle (nee Acton) passed away peacefully at her
beloved Locust Point home surrounded by family. Devoted wife of the late John C. Bauerle.
Beloved aunt of George Acton and his wife Sandy, Kimberly Acton, Mark Acton and his wife
Karen, Christopher Acton and his wife Beth, and Denis E. Bauerle, Jr and his wife Rachel.
Loving sister of George Acton and his wife Peggy. Joyce was also survived by many other great
nieces, nephews, loving relatives and friends.
Joyce was elected valedictorian of her 1960 graduating class at Southern High in South
Baltimore. From there she worked as an admin for the local Southern States office up until her
retirement. During this span of time she was also deeply involved in community matters facing
Locust Point through her role as President of the Civic Association. She was recognized for all
of her community wise efforts culminating with her induction as Honorary Colonel at Fort
McHenry. She was a lifelong active member of The Church of Redemption, where she taught
Sunday School for many years. Her personal life was filled with travel, forged friendships and
deeds that will always be remembered.

Locust Point, MD 21230 on Friday, October 4, 2024 3:00 pm- 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm- 9:00 pm.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 11:00 am at Church of Redemption,
1401 Towson St., Baltimore, MD 21230. Interment to be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in Joyce’s memory to The Church of
the Redemption. Donations can be mailed directly to the church or can be made using the link
