Josephine Margaret Lanasa's Obituary
Josephine Margaret Lanasa passed away in her home on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at the age of 68.
Josie was born November 29, 1953, beloved daughter of Antonio Salvatore Lanasa & Mildred Lanasa (Kulman). She was preceded in death by her loving partner, Maynard Shifflett. Josie was a devoted mother to her only son, Joseph Anthony Lanasa & his partner, Kaitlyn Smith. Loving grandmother to Izabella May & Carlin Joseph Lanasa. Josie is survived and will be greatly missed by her 5 siblings, William A. Lanasa, Sr. (Bill), Mildred F. Burford (Mil), Maria A. Ziller (Ri), Anna M. Cummings (Poodie), & Margaret B. Hooper (Marg). Her loss will be felt by many nieces & nephews, as well as many other loving family, friends, & neighbors.
Josie grew up in and lived her entire life in South Baltimore at 231 E. Heath Street. She dedicated her life to being the caretaker of her mother & several other family members. Josie worked her whole life in the printing industry along side her two sisters. Josie, Poodie & Marg “The 3 Bambina’s” were inseparable. Everything they did in life, they did it together. While her older 3 siblings, provided, guided, protected them fiercely. Josie was known for her great love of family. She was kindhearted, cared deeply & encouraged strongly. She had a spunky & silly, playful personality, with an infectious laugh that would bring all to tears and bellyaching laughs. Josie had the biggest heart & loved with all her being. She will be sorely missed by so many.
The Family invites friends to call at Charles L. Stevens Funeral Home, Inc. 1501 E. Fort Avenue Locust Point, MD 21230 on Thursday, November 10, 2022 from 3:00-5:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm. Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022 at 12:00pm at Charles L. Stevens Funeral Home. Interment to be held at Holy Cross Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made toward funeral expenses.
