James Michael Welsh's Obituary
On Saturday, August 12, 2023, James “Jim” Welsh died after a long illness. His family surrounded and lifted him in his final days. A kind and quiet man, Jim loved his family, his faith, and his country and he served all without reservation or hesitation. His unflappable demeanor and sense of humor were legendary. He was quick-witted, and just a little bit naughty. He was predeceased by his wife of over 60 years, Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Welsh, whom he loved with a dedication and commitment to which more people should strive. It is the belief of his family that she greeted him eagerly at the gates of paradise.
Jim was the loving and devoted father of three children, Joseph Welsh and wife Lisa, Patrick “Tim” Mulvey-Welsh and wife Barbara, and Jennifer Kraft and husband David. He was also the doting pop-pop of Marisa Welsh, Alysia Parson and husband Brooks, Dylan Mulvey-Welsh, and Emma Mulvey-Welsh and his two great-grandsons, Joseph Ortt, and Otto Ortt. Jim also leaves behind his canine companion, Princess, as well as his grand-dog, Jasmine.
He was the beloved son of the late Edmund and Delia Welsh and was predeceased by all six of his siblings, Joseph, J. Robert, Leo, and his sisters Mary-Alice, Agnes, and Dorothy (Dots). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
