My thoughts and prayers are with my uncle’s children during this time. I know how difficult this must be for them. I ask God to bless them with peace and comfort them with His gifts of faith, hope, and love. I am sure that I and all of his nieces and nephews will always keep Uncle Jack alive in our talks, in our memories, and in our hearts. We will especially remember his loving and generous heart, his laughter, and his kindness in helping us and others. Over the years, my mother would fondly recount the adventures that she had with her brother when they were children . . . walking home from school together and getting side-tracked by exciting curiosities which often caused them to arrive home late; caring for their pet bunnies; how the good nuns at their Catholic schools loved Jackie and told our grandmother how intelligent he was, but how with deep regret, they were compelled to punish him for putting a tack on a teacher’s chair🤭; his scary stories like the “hand under the bed” and how during difficult times they would gather coal that had fallen from the railroad cars to provide heat at home. He had a very tender heart. I remember how long ago he humbly read to me an epic poem that he had just composed about Jesus’ Passion and carrying the cross to Calvary. And now, the Lord has called our Uncle Jack to be with Him in Heaven, his true home, where he will see the face of Jesus (Revelation 22:3–4) and be like the angels (Mark 12:24-25). I can only imagine the joy and perfect peace that his soul enjoys now and will forever in eternity. With love from his niece, Karan.
