Grace Virginia Grantland's Obituary
We regret to say that our precious Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother, Grace Virginia Grantland, passed into the hands of Our Lord on October 21, 2021, at the age of 97. She gave so much love to her family and we loved her dearly.
She is survived by her three daughters, Lois Carnes, Shirley Dardas, and Grace Ferrone, and her son, Patrick Grantland, Sr. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Shannon Funk, and Patrick Grantland, Jr. She also leaves three great-grandchildren, Zoe and Piper Funk and Patrick (PJ) Grantland III. She is predeceased by her husband, Vincent Grantland, and a grandson Robert Carnes.
Grace was born in Baltimore, Maryland, the daughter of George and Grace Bloss on August 26, 1924. She had three brothers (George, Gilbert, and Robert Bloss) and one sister (Geraldine Neal), all deceased.
Grace was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Church and worshiped there for many years, until her health declined. She belonged to the church sorority, and attended mass regularly. Vincent and Grace sent all their children to St. Mary’s Star of the Sea school. She was a resident of Federal Hill all of her life.
