Geraldine "Geri" Kerger's Obituary
Geraldine Virginia Kerger (nee Emmons) 87, of South Baltimore transitioned to her heavenly home after a battle with cancer on October 19, 2023. Geraldine was born on November 29, 1935 to Katherine and Nelson Emmons. After graduating from Southern High School in 1953, she married John Kerger on October 8, 1955 at Holy Cross Catholic Church. The couple had three children, two girls and a boy born on their fourth anniversary. She spent most of her married life being a mother homemaker and later running her own childcare business. Once retired, she took care of her mother and joined several clubs including the Allen Center in her mother’s memory. She was a kind, warm, and loving woman, who enjoyed walking and spending time with her friends, including her best friend and neighbor of over 60 years. She was a lifelong Christian and member of the Old Otterbein Methodist Church. Geri was predeceased by her husband John, mother Katherine, father Nelson, her brother Nelson Jr., and her great grandson Johnny Hockenbrock. Geraldine is survived by her daughter Patricia Kurlick and her husband Craig, Donna Kerger and her husband John, and her son John Kerger Jr, her granddaughter Krystle Hockenbrock and her husband Jason, and her great grandson Jackson Hockenbrock. She is also survived by her brother William (Bill) Emmons, his wife Karen and many other loving family members and dear friends. Memorial donations can be made to Old Otterbein Methodist Church in her name.
The Family invites friends to call at Charles L. Stevens Funeral Home, Inc. 1501 E. Fort Avenue Locust Point, MD 21230 on Thursday, October 26, 2023 from 3:00-5:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm. Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 12:30 pm at Charles L. Stevens Funeral Home. Interment to be held at Glen Haven Cemetery.
