F. Michael "Mike" Kelly's Obituary
Francis Michael (Mike) Kelly, a long-time Locust Point Resident, passed away June 9, 2025. He was 85. Mike graduated from Southern High School and served in the Maryland Air National Guard. He later served as Secretary/Treasurer at Standard Medical Imaging in Columbia, MD.
Mike was passionate about professional Baltimore sports teams, including the former Baltimore Colts, the Baltimore Ravens, and the Baltimore Orioles. He was also an animal lover. Mike was an avid reader, especially The Baltimore Sun and National Geographic. He loved playing board games and card games with family. In addition, Mike was proud of his Irish heritage, weaving Irish culture into his identity.
Mike dedicated his life to his family. He and his late wife Mary Catherine Kelly raised their children in the Catholic tradition at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Locust Point. As a steady presence at the ball fields, in the auditoriums, and at school events, Mike cheered on his children and grandchildren with great pride. The revered Kelly Family patriarch was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who freely shared wisdom and love with those he loved the most. He will be remembered as a kind and humble gentleman who was always present for his family.
Mike was the spouse of the late Mary Cass Kelly, and son of the late Francis and Ruth Kelly. Beloved father of Kathy McKoy and husband Keith, Karen Wilkinson and husband Lee, Joe Kelly and wife Beth, Bob Kelly, Dave Kelly and wife Dani. Treasured brother of J. Patrick Kelly and wife the late Sandy. Loving brother-in-law of Patricia Hart and Paula Hart. Mike’s first two grandchildren he raised as his own, Kelsie Hall and Breanna Hall and loving companion Ian. Dedicated grandfather of Ryan Kelly, Keegan Kelly, Justin McKoy and fiancé Kayla, Erin Kelly, Emily Kelly, Colleen Kelly, Colin Kelly, Blake Kelly, Tyler Caputo and wife Cat and their children Brayden, Jacqualyn, Giavanna. Dearest uncle to Michele Hart and loving companion Kurt. Beloved fur grandbabies Polly, Tabby, and Gus Gus. Also survived by other like grandchildren, other fur grandbabies and many other loving family and friends.
The Family invites friends to call at Charles L. Stevens Funeral Home, Inc. 1501 E. Fort Avenue Locust Point, MD 21230 on Thursday, June 12, 2025 from 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025 at 12:00 pm at Charles L. Stevens Funeral Home. Interment will be at New Cathedral Cemetery.
