Mrs. Emma was the MAYOR of Cooksie St. She knew everyone and kept up on newcomers and introduced herself to everyone and had a story to go with it.
I live a door away from her for 40 years.
One day she had went shopping had a few groceries in a bag, and she was trying to get into her house. She couldn't. Kenny & I tried but we couldn't. So she stayed at our house for several hours listening to her stories of Locust Point and how the neighborhood use to be.
I had gotten in touch with her daughter Cathy, and that's when we discovered that Mrs. Emma had the wrong key!
It was a very memorable day for all of us!
Rest In Peace Mrs. Emma. God has you at home now.
