Elizabeth C. Scharbach's Obituary
On Thursday, October 25, 2024 Elizabeth C. Scharbach passed away. Elizabeth was born in 1936 to Albert and Edith Williams in Louisville, KY, where she spent her early years. She attended the University of Louisville and the University of Kentucky, after which she moved to New York City in 1958. She continued her interest in art and attended the Arts Student's League for five years along with the Silvermine Art School and the University of Hartford. Known as "B.K.," she was a member of the Soho 20 Art Gallery in New York City, where she showed her work in addition to other galleries in the area. In 1994 she opened her own gallery, the Red Studio, in Greenwich, CT, where she specialized in fine art and framing for 15 years.
Her husband of over 60 years, Lawrence Scharbach, predeceased her in 2022. They lived in New York City and then in Darien, CT for 40 years. In 2012 they moved to Baltimore, MD to be close to their son, Albert Scharbach, a Roman Catholic priest, along with his wife and nine children.
Final services will be held at Mount Calvary Catholic Church, 816 N. Eutaw Street Baltimore, MD 21201 on Thursday, November 7, 2024 . The family invite friends to a visitation beginning at 9:30 am at the church, followed by the funeral mass starting at 10:00am. Interment to be held at Holy Cross Cemetery.
