Dolores M. Gillece's Obituary
Dolores M. Gillece (nee Kline), beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and sister, passed away in her family’s home Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2025. She was 96. Born April 4, 1929 to father Charles F. Kline and mother Hilda V. Kline (nee Berg). Dolores grew up in Colgate Creek, Md., before making a home with her family in South Baltimore.
She was the beloved wife of the late John J. "Jack" Gillece Sr., loving mother to the late John J. Gillece Jr. and his wife Theresa Gillece; and her late daughter Diane M. Gillece. She is survived by daughter Kathleen A. Gillece-Cosner and her husband Merle B. Cosner; son-in-law Scott M. Gifford; sister Nancy Eller; granddaughters Melissa F. Schaefer, Laura B. Emmons, and Ashley M. Gillece; 6 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Dolores loved to tell stories of her childhood growing up in Colgate Creek. A lifelong lover of music, she enjoyed dancing with Jack and collecting records to play on her vintage consoles or her jukebox. She loved to celebrate her family and sent a card for every occasion. She will be deeply missed by her family.
A funeral to celebrate Dolores’ life will be held on Saturday September 6, 2025 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Charles L. Stevens Funeral Home, Inc. 1501 E. Fort Avenue Locust Point, MD 21230. Funeral service will be held at 12:00pm-12:30 at the funeral home concluding the visitation. Interment will be held at New Cathedral Cemetery.
