I dreaded losing you and having to say goodbye but I hope you were greeted and adorned by Grandmom, Bryan, Gidget and all your other previously departed love ones. I hated seeing you so sick and going downhill at such an alarming rate. Not being able to help you was torturous so knowing you are no longer suffering brings me some solace.
I'd like all to know that you were a strong, witty and generous man that I've known my entire life. A man who has truly enriched my life and provided opportunities and experiences that would have remained unknown to me. You were ornery with a great sense of humor. I'm appreciative of all you've done for our entire family. You've helped and supported us in limitless ways. I've always been welcome to come over at any time and I often did. Living down the street has been a blessing and having you so close gave me a comforting sense of security. Your home and company have been a special privilege in my life. I've found a lot of joy over your house and have many happy memories. Visiting with you has always been a treasure and I enjoyed listening to stories from your past.
It is now our turn to tell stories about this wonderful man to celebrate his life and to keep his memory alive and his spirit in our hearts. I will greatly miss him and will always love him and keep him in my heart. Bless you Pop, and may you be resting in peace.
