Anthony Williams “Tony”

Anthony Williams, of Clinton, Maryland, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2020. Tony was born on November 7, 1954 in West Paterson, New Jersey to Norma Marie and Francis Joseph Williams. He was the fourth oldest of eleven children. After high school, he proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1973-1976. Afterwards, his adventures included cycling cross -country, hitchhiking to and from Alaska, working in animal control in Denver, Colorado and living on a kibbutz in Israel. All the while, he developed his artistic and musical talents. While living in Colorado, he studied the mandolin under Tim O’Brien. More recently, he was a member of the Buck Forty Nine band, playing in the Washington, DC area. He continued his artistic studies at Maryland University, earning a Masters in Fine Arts. For the past twenty years, Tony worked as a museum specialist for the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian.
He is predeceased by his parents and siblings, Frank, Vincent, and Mary. Tony was a beloved brother and uncle. He is survived by seven brothers and sisters and their families, his sister Joanne Williams and her husband Steven Unger and their children Madeleine and Jacqueline Unger, his brother Kevin Williams and his wife Kathy and their children, Christopher, Carson Zachariah and Jacob, his brother Danny Williams and his wife Janice and their children Emily and Rozalia, his sister Norma Williams, his brother Patrick Williams and his wife Kathy, his brother Michael Williams and his wife Dori and their children Karly, Mikaela and Madison, his brother Paul and his sister Mary’s children Justin, Vincent, Lucas and Gwendolyn.
