Rose Savage
February 2, 1959 - August 28, 2021
Rose Marie Savage passed away on August 28, 2021 at the age of 62 after a three-year heroic battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy every day. Rose was born on February 2, 1959 in Baltimore City. Cupid struck quickly in May 1979 when she met Robert (Bob) Savage at the Red Door in Baltimore. They were married six months later at a blue jean shop in Kingsland, Georgia, six days before Bob was to embark on a six-month deployment with the Navy. Rose and Bob spent 42 years devoted to each other, living in Florida and West Branch, Michigan and later returning to Baltimore with their three children, Franklyn, Timothy, and Mallory. When her children were small, Rose stayed home with them and also babysat other neighborhood children. She then worked for 17.5 years at a local pediatrician’s office and eventually went on to babysit her own grandchildren. Her whole life revolved around kids. Rose was a supportive, compassionate, and selfless mother, not just to her own children, but to the many she helped raise over the years. She attributed everything she knew to her best role model - her mother, the late “Munner” Jean Doris Trebes. Rose welcomed everyone with open arms, but the lucky ones got to call her Rosie, Rosebud, Mama Rose, BBFF, Aunt Rose, Lady, Grandmom, Mom. Their hearts have been touched with her kindness, their stomachs have grown with her delicious food, and they probably learned - and lost - a card game or two while having a smoke with her. Her carefree dance moves, joyful laughter and comforting hugs will sorely be missed. During her last days, Rose declared, “I never had a lot of money, but my beautiful family is my treasure - my greatest accomplishment - and I’m so glad I was here to meet my last grandbaby.” She is preceded in death by her father, Edward W. Trebes; her mother, Jean Doris Trebes; her father-in-law, Delbert Lee Ehinger. She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Robert Savage; her son, Franklyn Savage of Parkville; her son, Timothy Savage and his wife, Maricel Savage of Pasadena; her daughter, Mallory Savage and her partner, Aaron Woolery of Dundalk; her 9 grandchildren, Zachary, Peyton, Olivia, London, AJ, Kyleigh, Brock, Carter, and Daphne; her mother-in-law, Nancy Ehinger of West Branch, Michigan and her partner, Jim MacMillan of Hale, Michigan. There have been many extended family and friends who have helped to shape her into the incredible person she became and she was always grateful for their love. The family invite friends to call at Charles L. Stevens Funeral Home, Inc. 1501 E. Fort Avenue Locust Point, MD 21230 on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 from 3-5 pm & 7-9pm, and Thursday, September 2, 2021 from 3-5pm & 7-9pm. Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021 at 10:00 am at Charles L. Stevens Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
