I am Phyllis' 2nd cousin and she was the absolute best. So kind and caring and compassionate and one of the best people I have ever known. She was so wonderful not only to my grandmother (Annie Hartung) but to all of my grandmother's sisters and brothers. My grandma lived on Henry Street, not too far from Reynolds St. where Phyllis lived. She will be missed greatly but God definitely gained another angel in Phyllis.
My deepest sympathies to all of the family. Sorry I could not attend the service but she was definitely in my thoughts today. Please let me know if you need anything at all.
Phyllis was a very lovey woman. I moved onto Reynolds Street where she lived in 2004. She came down and introduced herself and provided a page of information regarding the neighborhood. I saw her often out walking an elderly neighbor's dog. She was always smiling and you knew she cared. She is missed on our street.
Phyllis and her family were our neighbors in Locust Point. She was always one of the young women whom I held as a role model--setting goals and pursuing your dreams through education! She was always kind and steady and a friend to each of us. She reached out to me 40 plus years later on FB! I was so happy...she had some photos of my older brother and friends that she wanted to mail to him. He was so appreciative of her generosity with those memories! Looking at her photo...still brings a smile to my face.

Dear Monaghan Family, I am so sorry to learn of Phillis' passing. She was always very kind and caring to everyone; the kind of friend and nurse we all hoped to be. I'm sure God has planned a very special place for her in heaven. Her loving classmate from Mercy, Joan Youdell Kisska
