Both my husband and I have known Dave and Sandy for about 40-years. Dave will always be remembered as a very kind, sincere loving father and dear friend to both of us.
Through-out the years we've shared many holidays and fun-times together. Dave and Sandy always made everyone feel very comfortable in their home and both, preparing the best dinners for all to share and enjoy. And, what fun times we had!
Watching Steven grow-up was always a treasure for Dave, Sandy and both of us. Dave especially was always filled with so much love, pride, praise and adoration for Steven and was Steven the sunshine in Dave's heart. This family had it all! The togetherness, love and happiness surrounded them -not to forget Sally, Sara, Symantha, and Sugar who kept us laughing on many occasions.
And to add, without a doubt, Dave was a dedicated, successful, sharp salesman with many accolades and personal accomplishments. Not forgetting Shop-rite, Pathmark and Stew Leonards -will never be the same without the 'Coupon-King.'
Peace be with you Dave as you journey onto your next addredss and through heavens gate. You'll be missed dearly...

We met Dave when he married Sandy (my brother's widow). It could have been an extremely awkward situation for everyone. But Dave welcomed us with open arms and our families grew together. We celebrated their holidays and our holidays and life events together. Our children grew up as cousins.
Dave loved to cook and usually managed to make our favorites. Not only that, but he managed to have extra cheese potatoes for us to take home. His Coquilles St. Jacques was probably the best that I ever had.
We'll miss his calls about supermarket sales and where the best quality of a particular item could be found. We all loved the corn that he brought to our annual family barbecue.
My last call from Dave was shortly before their move to Maryland. He was in desperate search of a good corned beef sandwich and figured that I could help him locate one. Because it was rush hour, I believe that he settled for something else that night.
Dave, we hope that you are in a place with unending corned beef sandwiches, cannoli, and a 24 hour Stew Leonard's close by. We also wish for lots of puppies for you to play with.
Your family loves you and you will be missed.

Simply put David Sharkey was one of a kind as soon as I met him So did everybody that knew him.His passing has brought me much sadness however I have chosen to celebrate his life and his legacy.I remember all the times we laughed and was so fortunate to share his last two weeks of his life with him.He definitely left his mark in my heart. Beginning with our days on 17th Street, Dave has always had a profound effect on my life. After taking me out of the hospital in 1971,we cashed your winning $2,000 ticket at Belmont Race Track.
Dave was the best auto body salesman. He took me to Rochester and gave me my start selling auto body supplies. I returned the favor by introducing lovely Sandy to him. The rest is history! They married and had their son Steven. Dave was dedicated to his wife and son. He loved Sandy, and was extremely proud of Steven and all his accomplishments.
We have many fond memories spending time with Dave and his family. Joan and I were lucky enough to see Dave before he moved to Maryland.
We will miss you and never forget you!

Dave and I worked together at 3 companies. Two of them were start-up operations and Dave was the most instrumental person in making them an early success. His secret was the combination of hard work, attention to detail and most important caring about and working toward the welfare of his customers.
He was a true friend for more than 35 years. We shared so many memories, great times and laughs.
His love of family which shone through in his devotion to Sandy and his pride and respect for Steve and family was a wonderful thing to observe.
