Hi, I just learned about Dot's passing and was sorry to hear about it. Dot made me laugh more times than I can say, especially the story about her son grabbing her buttocks after some sort of intestinal surgery and saying "Lord, heal this woman". My wife and I were laughing about that just today and then I found the notice in Messenger from another friend. I worked with Dot but in another Division of DOP/DBM and whenever we'd meet in the hallway or near the copy machine we'd chat. And, aside from that, she made the best chocolate cake EVER. Dot had an indominable, unforgettable spirit. She is among the kindest, sweetest persons anyone would ever want to meet. Her smiles were infections and, as everyone has mentioned, her laughter had to be experienced and savored. We commuted to work together to the Md. DoP in the mid-70's, along with Mary Lou Mogenhan. Johnny Walker was the commuters' DJ of choice because of all the wild things he did and his jokes. By the time we would get to the office, we were dripping with tears of laughter and filled with the happiness that Dot's laughter provided. She was the best of friends.

Working with her was wonderful. She knew her stuff and made our work go so much easier, especially with the humor that she brought to the job.

I believe that a person's true long-term measure is in how many lives they have impacted for the positive. Dot has more than earned her standing in the annals of humanity.

Ms. Dot and I met about 20 years ago. We had many conversations over the back fence as I walked my dogs and she did her gardening. When I had no dogs to walk we resumed our conversations out front on our porches. We never just talked for a few minutes it usually turned into an hour or two! Ms. Dot was a wonderful storyteller and had an incredible laugh. She took an interest in all the neighbors and did whatever she could to help each of them out personally. Ms. Dot was a true neighbor and friend and will be missed by everyone in our neighborhood. Thank you Ms. Dot for the gift of your friendship all these many years and for the positive things you’ve taught me over the years. I will hold you in my heart forever.

She had the most wonderful laugh, and was a grandmother to our children. This is a terribly hard one for us. This planet will not be the same without her. We love you!
